چکیده
Adaptive power allocation (PA) algorithms based on opti6 mization of the minimum distance dmin between signal points at the 7 receiver side are investigated in spatial modulation (SM) systems. First, a 8 closed-form solution of the optimal maximum-dmin-aided PA algorithm is 9 derived in the case of two transmit antennas (TAs). Moreover, for a higher 10 number of TAs, we propose a numerical approach, which appropriately 11 splits the power between the specific TA pair associated with dmin to 12 increase this distance. Furthermore, our PA-aided SM systems may be 13 readily combined with adaptive modulation (AM) to further improve 14 the system’s performance. Our numerical results show that the proposed 15 algorithms provide beneficial system performance improvements com16 pared with both the equal-gain PA-based SM and the identical-throughput 17 PA-aided spatial multiplexing systems. 18

Optimal Linear Pre-coder and Power Allocation for MIMO-OFDM Systems with Partial and Imperfect Channel Knowledge
Multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems provide dramatic capacity gain through an increased spatial dimension. However, the capacity gain is reduced if the channel state information (CSI) is not perfectly known. Thus, to improve MIMO system performance, CSI at the transmitter (CSIT) and receiver (CSIR) should be used efficiently. Uncertainties in CSI arise mainly due to imperfect channel ...
متن کاملPower and Bit Allocation for Wireless OFDM Channels with Finite-Rate Feedback and Subcarrier Clustering
The study investigated the allocation of transmission power and bits for a point-to-point orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing channel assuming perfect channel information at the receiver, but imperfect channel information at the transmitter. Channel information was quantized at the receiver and was sent back to the transmitter via a finite-rate feedback channel. Based on limited feedback...

We investigate intercell interference cancellation (ICIC) with a practical downlink training and uplink channel state information (CSI) feedback model. The average downlink throughput for such a 2-cell network is derived. The user location has a strong effect on the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) and the channel estimation error. This motivates adaptively switching between traditional (sing...

We deal with energy efficient time-division multiple access (TDMA) over fading channels with finite-rate feedback for use in the power-limited regime. Through finite-rate feedback from the access point, users acquire quantized channel state information. The goal is to map channel quantization states to adaptive modulation and coding modes and allocate optimally time slots to users so that the t...

Here it is proposed a novel adaptive transmission scheme for space-time trellis coded multipleinput multiple-output beamforming systems with imperfect channel state information at the transmitter, of which the signal constellation, total transmit power (temporal power), and power allocation among eigenbeams (spatial power) are jointly adapted to maximize the average spectral efficiency, subject...
